Over 35 years ago, a new dining experience came to the Triangle, then populated by steakhouses, Italian cuisine, a few Mexican restaurants and the obligatory franchise restaurants. With that kind of competition, this new idea took the Triangle by storm. It created a sensation with people throughout the Triangle, and beyond. It was called Kanki, and it offered a great new taste, along with a entirely new kind of entertainment. Chefs served up steaks and seafood before the very eyes of the customers with such fanfare and panache that “the Best-Tasting Show in Town”, as it was called, seemed an understatement. Both adults and kids loved Kanki, Japanese House of Steaks. It’s a place for the family; it’s a place for romantics. Today, some 35 varieties of sushi have been added to the menu, and two new Triangle locations have been added to the original site in Crabtree Valley Mall. Recently, Click Culture worked with the people of Kanki on a new website designed to capture the spirit of a true “Triangle Institution”.
